Youth Project Design (YPD), an initiative of the Child and Youth Network, where youth co-created solutions aimed at increasing high school graduation rates.
Using a youth-led community development approach – solutions designed by young people for young people – the YPD project team developed a series of innovative engagement activities.
We were invited to work alongside the project team to bring their ideas to life through design.
What We Did to Tell the Story
The YPD project team designed the Youth Project Design logo. Our team provided support to create the vector file and adapt the logo to various engagement tools.
Five hundred young people shared their ideas and insights about how to improve high school graduation rates.
Designed worksheets, posters, and facilitation materials were used to collect ideas and insights through a variety of facilitated activities.
T-shirts were designed for young people to share their solutions to specific issues related to graduation rates. The t-shirts served as unique conversation starters for young people to continue brainstorming and dialoging about their ideas.
The story of YPD – the message, the process, and the solutions – was captured through video.
To encourage youth engagement, the website served as a platform for young people to learn more about the YPD project and provide their feedback about solutions to address high school graduate rates.
EVERY STORY IS DIFFERENT
How It’s Designed Should Be Too.
