After 30 years in the same location, the beloved building of the Children’s Museum had seen a lot of play, laughter, and learning. The time had come to re-imagine a new space, a new dream, and a new future.
The Children’s Museum launched a campaign to engage Londoners in designing a bold new vision for the future.
What We Did to Tell the Story
Our Future Campaign
The Our Future campaign invited Londoners to share their vision for the Children’s Museum. The campaign brand, postcards, direct mail, posters, retractable banners, social media images encouraged community members to dream big.
The Power of Simplicity
We used the power of simplicity to engage Londoners. A single, well-designed invitation to, “Tell or show us what you envision for the new Children’s Museum.” More than 350 Londoners shared their dream for the future of the Children’s Museum at Dream Camps, through social media, and email.
Launching the New Direction
The Children’s Museum launched their new direction at their Annual General Meeting. Postcards were designed to invite Londoners to attend. Summary reports were created to highlight the results from the community engagement and share the exciting next steps for the Children’s Museum.
From the Story to the Dream
To share the Children’s Museum’s story – past, present, and future – with the community, donors, funders, and government the case for support From the Story to the Dream: London Children’s Museum was designed. In it, the Children’s Museum outlined their vision for the future and the impact of the re-imagined Children’s Museum.
